The Race for U.S. Senate in Nebraska
We appreciate Bob Kerrey's decision ( OWH 10/24/07) and candor as to why he has not chosen to return to Nebraska to run for the U.S. Senate. We also believe that his decision not to run was based on the likelihood of his chances of winning, as this election will have several strong Republican candidates.
We are confident that the next U.S. Senator from Nebraska will be Mike Johanns, Jon Bruning or Pat Flynn, as chosen by the voters of Nebraska in November of next year.
We know that Nebraska constituents have high expectations for their elected officials and with the majority of our State’s national and state leaders standing with our Republican Party, we think the people of Nebraska continue to place their confidence in our ideas and principles.
Public service is an honor and privilege, one that the Nebraska Republican Party and our Republican public officials do not take for granted. Our Republican leaders and candidates constantly give us reasons to look forward to the 2008 election season.
